One of the first steps was taken in 2013, the year we first obtained ISO 14001 environmental management system certification with the DNV certification body.
At the beginning of 2021 a00 kW electrical cogenerator was installed to optimize the production of thermal energy for productive use and to recover heat normally dispersed during the use of the gas boiler.
Furthermore, we chose to replace all high-power neon lamps in our facility with LED lamps to ensure reduced consumption and significant energy savings. The virtuous cycle of recycling covers approximately 15% of all waste produced by the company.
Given the high energy consumption required for our activities, we decided, as early as 2010 , to invest in a photovoltaic power
generation system totaling 1.2 MWp installed.Currently, during peak photovoltaic production, we achieve full energy autonomy (meaning 100% of the energy used comes from renewable sources).
Thanks to these measures, for the year 2022 alone, it's estimated that we produced nearly 311 MWh of clean energy, preventing the emission of a significant 281,568 kg of CO2 into the atmosphere (equivalent to the average annual absorption of 11,262 trees).
With an investment in a hydroelectric power plant made in 2018,
the company continues to invest in green energy, producing over 1.3-1.6 GWh of clean, zero-emission electricity, comparable to the annual consumption of over 500 families of 3 people.
